I assume you mean to turn on Verbose logging near the end of the Encoding phase.

Regarding turning on Verbose logging - the Download phase is always successful (according to the GUI), but the failure always occurs at the end of the Encoding phase, usually after many hours (according to the GUI). 09:17:48:640 0 download for Face the Nation: 02-25-2018 (TiVoFamilyRoom) Format: Default Keep after iTunes tivodecode-ng Program Stream 09:17:46:667 MTTiVoManager>notifyForName:withTitle:subTitle:isSticky: TiVo show failed 09:17:46:630 MTTiVoManager>notifyForName:withTitle:subTitle:isSticky: Warning: Could not reach TiVo!Īntivirus program may be blocking connection, or you may need to reboot TiVo 15:02:55:178 MTDownload>connection:didFailWithError: URL Connection Failed with error Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1001 "The request timed out." 14:01:32:715 0 download for The Vietnam War: This Is What We Do (July 1967-December 1967) (TiVoFamilyRoom) Format: HB 1080p Keep after iTunes tivodecode-ng Program Stream The certificate details say that it is a self-signed root certificate from TiVo Inc that has not been verified by a 3rd party and has not expired. If I try to connect the TiVo using Safari, it warns that the certificate is not valid. I'm encoding with the built-in HB 1080p format. cTiVo is running on a Mac Mini 2012 with Sierra 10.12.6. I am testing with a TiVo BOLT and a TiVo Premiere. So it does not appear to be a problem with antivirus software, network connectivity, cTiVo configuration, or video file corruption.

I am not running any antivirus software at the moment. I have also restarted the TiVo BOLT and disabled the native macOS firewall. I have tried downloading 3 different shows from both TiVo's with the same results. But in every case, it spends several hours encoding the show, only to stop at the end with the message "Failed". cTiVo is able to connect to both my TiVo's, list the Now Playing shows on both, and download any selected show to completion. I recently upgraded to cTiVo Version 3.1.0 (830) and now I am no longer able to encode shows successfully. Thanks, Hugh, for an extraordinary Mac application! I have used prior versions of cTiVo successfully for a number of years with only a few minor problems and it is a really useful tool.
